Chandler Way

offers residential assisted living with all the comforts of home, not an institutional environment. Our lovely 4,000 sq. foot residential care home is situated in the prestigious Lake Highlands area of Dallas. We are within 3 miles of both Presbyterian and Medical City Dallas Hospitals, physician offices, shopping and numerous restaurants. Central Expressway/Hwy. 75 and LBJ/I635 are only 5 minutes away.

We encourage our residents to bring their own bedroom furniture, pictures and mementos to decorate their rooms. Chandler Way is their home "away from home" and having their own special things nearby eases the transition into a new home. There's even room for a favorite chair...

Our residents enjoy their time socializing with friends and family in the bright, sky-lit garden room. The large, paneled great room is a wonderful gathering place for movie watching on the 52" TV. We offer a full range of activities tailored to our residents' interests and capabilities in our activities room. The formal dining room is the perfect setting for meals and our birthday and various holiday celebrations.

The beautiful cottage garden, with its flower-bedecked brick patio, is a favorite spot to relax with a cup of tea or coffee. Watching our resident squirrels at play is a favorite activity. Our bird bath and feeder are often the scene of "standing room only" as our variety of feathered friends come by for their daily visits. Fun and laughter abound during our barbeques and patio parties.

Chandler Way is a licensed Type "B" assisted living and a certified Alzheimer's / Dementia care facility by the Department of Aging and Disability Services of the State of Texas.

Our direct care staff are well trained with many years of experience in the care of residents with multiple medical conditions and the various types of dementia. They receive annual ongoing 6 hrs. of Assisted Living and 12 hrs. of Alzheimer's/Dementia training.

What our Families Say…

Chandler Way was truly a blessing for me and my family. My 93 year old father had been living with us when he had a stroke. I was no longer able to care for him and had to find alternative living arrangements. After looking into nursing homes I knew there had to be a better solution. Chandler Way was the perfect answer! My father received excellent care while living there. The caregivers are compassionate and caring. He enjoyed so much the home setting and being able to sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful garden. This is something he would not have had in a nursing home. He was able to spend his last days with the dignity that he so deserved.

Chandler Way proved to be the perfect alternative to a large memory care center where my mother was not getting the one-on-one care she needed. The setting of a private home gave her the feeling of living with family, while getting the nursing care and assistance with activities of daily life that she required. Our whole family enjoyed the Bed & Breakfast format, with themed rooms and hand-prepared meals catering to her individual preferences and needs. The variety of comfortably decorated common spaces and the beautifully landscaped backyard and patio made visiting personal and enjoyable for family gatherings. For anyone needing assisted living services, there is no comparison--Chandler Way is a cut above.

My dad and I are so incredibly grateful for this compassionate new industry, Residential Assisted Living. Nancy Scott and her wonderful staff at Chandler Way cater to the schedules and lifestyles of their residents, as opposed to residents being expected to adhere to a schedule imposed by an institutionalized facility, which was not working for my mother at all.

My mom needed more than just a cubical room with a nurse's station at the end of the hall. She is confused, and quite visually impaired, so she needed 24-hour care, which she now receives at Chandler Way, but in a cozy, home-like setting, with assistance no more than ear-shot distance away at any moment. She can sleep late in the morning if it pleases her, and breakfast and coffee will be ready when she is.

Visiting your loved one at Chandler Way is a pleasure too, because it just feels like you are hanging out at a friend's house. It does not look or smell like a "facility", but like a home, especially when you walk in and smell cookies baking, or a peach cobbler prepared from scratch by Connie! My mother was a fine cook, and the Chandler Way staff makes a priority and an event of each meal! I think this is what helped Mom most to adjust to a very difficult lifestyle change. The food rocks!!

No one would be content having to leave their home, but Nancy and the Chandler Way Angels have made it possible for both my mom and dad to sleep a little more peacefully each night, while my parents and I move through a very difficult time in their lives. It was also a great relief to find we could get so much more care for so much less money than it would cost for the large, impersonal environment, we once thought was our only choice!

Thank you, Chandler Way! See you tomorrow!

Dear Prospective Resident:
I have researched and visited many care-giving homes across Dallas. Among them, I've visited Nancy Scott's Chandler Way in April 2009 and August 2011. Both times I've found Nancy's personal attention unwavering as to my mom's health care needs--genuine, courteous and professional. Nancy interviews all prospective residents, family and patient advocates to ensure her services and type of care are the proper fit and environment. Besides having a charmin home on the outside which blends in with the neighborhood, the living space is immaculate and cheerful and the back yard is inviting and peaceful for all to enjoy. The only reason my mom has not been a resident at Chandler Way is her health care needs do not yet warrant the kind of personal care Nancy and her staff provides. It's nice to make a second visit and find that it is no different than the first. When the time comes to move my mom, I know where to go. I am happy to make this recommendation and hope you will consider looking into Chandler Way for your loved one.

Best regards,

Our family wanted to express our deep gratitude for the excellent care you and your staff gave my mother for the last two years of her life. We were indeed very fortunate to find you and place Mom in your care at Chandler Way back two years ago when we were searching for her needed level of care. Your staff was very loving, professional and caring and we could not be more pleased with the care she received. Thanks again for your help in our time of need.
